Killer Bean launched in Steam Early Access on June 8, 2026 for $14.99 — and there’s a -20% launch discount to $11.99 until June 22. Right now it’s PC / Steam only. PS5, Xbox and Switch versions are planned, but only after the game finishes Early Access on Steam first.

What about the playtest?

For about two years before launch, Killer Bean ran closed Steam Playtests instead of a public demo. Here’s how it worked — and why it doesn’t matter anymore:

• When a test dropped, a "Request access" button appeared on the Steam page.
• Roughly 100 sign-ups filled a wave, then it closed again — often within hours.
• The playtest was a separate app (a ~10.8 GB download), not the store page itself.
• The tester pool was capped at 2,000 and shut for good when Early Access went live.

With Early Access live, the playtest era is over. There’s no "request access" button anymore — you just buy it on Steam and play.
